FUN FESTIVE ACTIVITES WITH PHROG!

Hi Mums! School holidays have just begun and we are pretty sure the kids are feeling festive and energetic! We thought we would help out with some cost-effective and fun ideas for festive activities at home.

All these activities are tried and tested on our very own babes who have loved keeping creative and busy during the holidays.

And so mama’s as always we share our ideas with you all, to help make life that little bit easier where we can;)

ACTIVITY 1

GLITTERING POPSICLE CHRISTMAS TREES:

Materials:

  • Coloured popsicle sticks.
  • Foam sticker stars.
  • Sticker rhinestones/diamantes.
  • Twine.
  • Glue gun.
  • Utility Knife.

Process:

Step 1:

You’re going to want 5 different sizes of popsicle stick pieces cut to 1″, 1.5″, 2″, 2.5″, and 3″ lengths.

Step 2:

Use a popsicle stick as the tree trunk and stick your smaller pieces onto the tree in height order.

Step 3:

Using a scrap piece of popsicle stick, maybe about 1/2″ long, add a generous glob of hot glue and sandwich a small piece of twine between the popsicle stick “trunk” and the small scrap.

Step 4:

Go crazy with those glittery sticker rhinestones and decorate your popsicle stick Christmas tree!

ACTIVITY 2

FLOCON-RODS OF CHRISTMAS:

Materials:

  • Earbuds.
  • Scissors.
  • Glue gun.
  • Baking paper.

Process:

Step 1:

Cut if necessary and arrange cotton swabs on parchment paper to form a nice 6-branched snowflake.

Step 2:

Place smaller pieces on the sides of the 6 axes.

Step 3:

Place small pads of hot glue at intersections and allow to harden well.

Step 4:

Carefully peel the flakes off the parchment paper and hang them on the branches of the Christmas Tree.

ACTIVITY 3

SANTA CORK ORNAMENT:

Materials:

  • One cork.
  • Red and pink acrylic paint.
  • Red felt (or card).
  • Cotton wool.
  • PVA glue.
  • Red and black pen.
  • Ribbon.

Process:

Step 1:

Paint corks 1/3 pink and 2/3 red.

Step 2:

Using a glass (6-8cm in diameter), draw a circle on your felt. Cut this into thirds. Each third will be for one hat.

Step 3:

Take a piece of ribbon, tie a knot in the end.

Step 4:

Place your ribbon inside the pointy bit of your 1/3 of a circle. Then align the straight edge (trapping the ribbon inside) and glue down. You can use some red card instead, which you may find easier to stick.

Step 5:

Once dried, glue the hat to your cork. Unroll your cotton wool and tear off a strip for the hat brim, cut a triangle for the beard and make a little ball for the top of the hat.

Step 6:

Glue the hat brim, the bobble ball and beard in place. You can shape it a little once stuck on by patting it down or trimming it.

Step 7:

Add eyes and nose.

And there you have it! We hope you have had fun moms!
