As we are getting back into the swing of things, we have been pondering 2019’s colour of the year and some upcoming nursery trends for the new year which are:
But we thought we would touch on our most loved trend so far being greenery.
Getting your nursery ready for your babe or changing your current one up a bit is always a fun task! It is also something that should be done carefully as this space is often where your little one spends most of their time, so a healthy environment is essential.
The nursery trend we have looked into extensively is bringing plants into your babes’ room. This has been said to enhance baby’s quality of life as plants act as a natural air filtration system. Breathing for your little one is so important and their health at a young age is prominent to their growth.
Not only are plants a great air purifier, they really make a perfect partnership with us. As humans, we breathe in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Through photosynthesis, plants take in carbon dioxide and release oxygen. Meaning that having plants in a child’s nursery increases indoor oxygen levels.
During winter, plants are also a natural humidifier. They release about 97 percent of the water they take in and studies show that interior plants decrease the chances of dry skin, colds, sore throats, and dry coughs. So, this can help a baby who battles with respiratory issues or assists in preventing your babe from running into these health implications. As moms, we know how hard it can be to see our little ones sick and not themselves let alone how it affects our own sleep and energy levels, so we are always ready to try something new.
There are certain plants that could be used in a nursery that will have the above benefits. These are:
We also understand our little ones love to touch, feel and put things in their mouths while they are exploring their senses which is why these plants are perfect for your nursery as they will be of no harm to your babe. Peace of mind is important for us Moms.
The colour of the year 2019 is Living Coral which is a bright coral shade described as more like an animated colour of orange with golden undertones. This is perfect for your babe’s nursery as it brings warmth and fits with floral wallpapers, greenery, and handcrafted items. A sleek bohemian look seems to be the trend and we think it is gorgeous!
Let us know what you think of these trends or if adding greenery works for you? Also, send us some pictures of your nursery décor! We love a little inspiration.
